Paper Test with Mailed Results. This is a timed test.
Christian Liberty Press offers the paper-version of the CAT tests for entering grades 2 through 12. This service includes all the necessary testing materials and instructions for administering them. After testing, return the materials to us for scoring. We will then mail you the final results and original test sheet. Scores are reported in grade equivalent, stanine, and percentile format.
It often takes one week to grade and return your student’s test results. If ordering the Curriculum Recommendation service, please allow an additional week for receipt of both the test results and recommendation.
If you decide to enroll your student into the Christian Liberty Academy School System (CLASS) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the testing fee will be deducted from your student’s tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different Achievement Testing level than the one he or she originally took, the test cost will not be deducted from your student’s tuition fee. Please use the CAT Level Chart below to determine if you are eligible for a refund when enrolling your child with CLASS.
|CAT Level||Entering Grade Level|
|•||The entire fee must accompany the order form. We do not accept partial payments and there are no discounts for multiple orders.|
|•||The paper-based CAT Testing Service fee is $25 per student. The Curriculum Recommendation Service fee is $18 per student.|
Cancellation / Refunds
|•||Testing Service: a 60% refund will be granted for the paper version of the CAT only if the unused testing service materials are returned to Christian Liberty Press within 60 days of the date of shipment. Mail your materials to Christian Liberty Press, Attn: Testing Service, 502 West Euclid Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60004-5402.|
|•||Curriculum Recommendation Service: if we receive your cancellation notice before we start the recommendation process, we will send you a full refund. Once our recommendation is completed, we are unable to issue a refund for this service.|
|•||If you wish to cancel your testing service and/or curriculum recommendation service, contact Christian Liberty Press as soon as possible to prevent unwanted processing that may affect your refund.|

The test was exactly what we wanted and a great price. Received quickly and administered with no problems. It was also a bit of a challenge for my 4th graders! Thank you Christian Liberty!

It has been such a blessing to be able to test the children at home with the CAT test from Christian Liberty. The tests arrive quickly with all of the information the administer of the test needs and once completed you just put the materials in the envelope provided and mail it back for results.
The test itself provides a good baseline so you know where your child stands both on an individual basis and compared to other students nation wide.

While we have moved on the online test for my older student, the paper version is still ideal for younger students. It is easy to follow, and we like the variety in shorter and longer sections of the test. The parent instructions are also very helpful.
CLP does a great job in grading and returning the test in a timely manner. One more year down!

Mandatory standardized testing... that says why we, as home educators, have used this test. And we chose CAT over others because of the reviews by other parents, versatility of the test by both paper and online, and for our state, we parents are "permitted" to administer the test ourselves. As much as we don't want to answer to the state for our God-commanded parental responsibilities, this is a simple and easy way to meet the "guvmint" mandate.
We have used both the paper and online versions. Paper needs a week (or more in peak times) for scoring and mail return of grade/report, while the online gives instant results.
The children have preferred the paper version.
The online version has a bit of learning curve depending on your personal computer, computer speed, internet connection, display resolution, etc. On our computer with limited screen display, we needed to scroll down in each question for all the selection choices. We had a "glitch" that locked up the program (as others have experienced) but it was handled very quickly by a phone call to the staff.
Order early and return the answer sheets early for timely results when necessary for mandated school district student reports.
Now, is there a standardized test formulated for us DOG lovers?

I a homeschooling mom of four children and this is our second year using the CAT. The directions are simple and we ususally have the test done in two to days. The results come back quickly and are very helpful in letting know what my children's strengths and weaknesses are.
