Paper Test with Mailed Results. This is a timed test.
Christian Liberty Press offers the paper-version of the CAT tests for entering grades 2 through 12. This service includes all the necessary testing materials and instructions for administering them. After testing, return the materials to us for scoring. We will then mail you the final results and original test sheet. Scores are reported in grade equivalent, stanine, and percentile format.
It often takes one week to grade and return your student’s test results. If ordering the Curriculum Recommendation service, please allow an additional week for receipt of both the test results and recommendation.
If you decide to enroll your student into the Christian Liberty Academy School System (CLASS) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the testing fee will be deducted from your student’s tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different Achievement Testing level than the one he or she originally took, the test cost will not be deducted from your student’s tuition fee. Please use the CAT Level Chart below to determine if you are eligible for a refund when enrolling your child with CLASS.

Composite Score Explanation
Composite scoring is required by some states and schools. For up to date information and requirements please check with your State, School District or HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association)
As a general explanation, composite scoring takes the individual percentile and stanine scores for each category that is scored and gives one percentile and one stanine for each of them. The categories are Reading, Mathematics, Language and Spelling. These are then combined to give one overall percentile and stanine for the test. This is a weighted average however, based upon the group norms, and cannot be figured simply by totaling the scores and getting an average.
|•||The entire fee must accompany the order form. We do not accept partial payments and there are no discounts for multiple orders.|

Very easy to use with clear instructions.

Our daughter looks forward to doing the test at the end of her school year. It's so much fun for her. As her mother, I find this test easy to use as the instructions are clear and easy to follow.
Another bonus is that the results come back fast, and are well explained, so that we know what we are looking at when reading the different scores.
Finally, it was very considerate to give a discount on the test this year just at the time when many people are buying their tests - thanks!
In short: We bought this test before, and will buy it again.

I love this test because it's only testing the basic skills of the 3 R's and I can give it myself without having a college degree. To me it's so much simpler to give than to collect 'stuff' throughout the year to be assessed by someone else who doesn't even know my kids. It's so nice ordering from Christian Liberty too because of the convenience and low price.

The service was excellent. I am a little concerned about three grade levels having the same test, but after I see how the tests are scored, I made feel better about this. I imagine that all third graders will be compared with only third graders, but there are many objectives that fifth graders are taught and not third graders. However, I will see when the test scoring is returned.

I have used the CAT testing program through Christian Liberty Press for many years. I am very happy to use this method for the cumpolsory testing requirement. The folks at the Christian Liberty Press even went beyond what is required when my daughter needed a Comp number (?) for her application into a college program. Since she had taken her CAT's with CLP, they had her numbers within a few hours.
With the younger two kids still talking CAT's, it just makes testing simple for parents while gauging the children's progress and abilities.

I appreciated being able to administer the test from the comforts of our home. I believe the test sufficiently met our need...and the cost was fabulous compared to other tests.
Our son being tested has dyslexia and one down side is there were no instructions or suggestions regarding how to modify or whether modifications where even allowed. I would have liked more direction on how to proceed with a special needs student.
