Course Description: The second of four readers written to complement a kindergarten phonics program (such as Adventures in Phonics: Level A), Pals and Pets builds on the first book and is designed to be read after the child has learned the rules for short vowel words with the “o” and “e” sounds. Fourteen one-page stories teach Christian values and consist of short sentences intended to retain attention and promote success. Each story is preceded by practice words that highlight the appropriate phonics rules being presented.
