Product Description

The Duties of Parents is a short book but is packed full of wisdom and ought to be available to every family. It does an excellent job of expounding on the practical principles of God’s Word, which need to be followed by parents wishing to train up their children in the way they should go.

The Duties of Parents was originally published in 1888 as part of a larger work entitled The Upper Room: Being Truths for the Times by J. C. Ryle, the great 19th century evangelical author, pastor, and bishop of the Church of England,. This booklet has been reprinted on several occasions because of the timeless nature of its instruction.

Bishop Ryle based his instruction on Proverbs 22:6: “Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Within the pages of this booklet, he provides Christian parents with seventeen distinct suggestions on how they might train up their children in the ways of the Lord.

This handy booklet is well worth its modest cost, whether it is for your own use or to be given as a gift.
