Curriculum: The table below briefly describes the courses and materials in this curriculum. For more detailed information, please view Grade 5 curriculum on the CLASS Website.
Book Credits: When enrolling with CLASS, certain books qualify for tuition credit if you already own these books. CLASS has made this option available to you in order to try to reduce your tuition costs. Within the chart below, please pay special attention to the items in red, which qualify for this credit. When ordering, if you have the book title indicated (please be careful to verify the correct title, publisher, and published date for the title), you may select above that you do not need this title shipped to you and your credit will immediately be applied to your purchase. CLASS does not provide financial credit for most teacher keys or manuals, or Christian Liberty Press publications.
Achievement and Placement Testing:
New and re-entering students New and re-entering students enrolling in grades 2–12 must take a placement test prior to curriculum development. CLASS prefers to use the California Achievement Test (CAT) - either online CAT* or paper CAT, especially if you need a standardized achievement test to meet local requirements. You may use the online TestPoint placement test* if you need to determine if the student is ready for a selected grade instead. There is no extra charge for either selection.
Re-enrolling students Re-enrolling students are not required to be tested. Unless you choose another testing option, a paper California Achievement Test will be included with your curriculum materials and may be completed at your convenience. There is no additional charge if you would prefer the online CAT*.
Pre-Testing If you choose to have your re-enrolling student pre-tested, please select yes above. The student’s curriculum will not be developed until the pre-test is completed and returned. The CAT test (online* or paper version) is recommended for pre-testing, but not required.
*Please allow 1 - 2 business days processing time for your online test. You will be notified via email with website information when your student's test is set up and ready to be taken.
