Guidance Counseling

Christian Liberty is pleased to extend to home school families our guidance counseling service which will provide parents the ability to interface with our trained educational consultants. With over 44 years of success in educating students, Christian Liberty has the knowledge and resources you need to prepare your students for college and their career. Our guidance counselors will provide one-on-one consulting to help your children realize their scholastic potentials, assist in developing an educational plan based upon the individual goals of parent and student, and navigate you through the development of the documentation and materials that colleges require. By working with our consultants to develop a scholastic plan, you will be able to have peace of mind that you and your child are well prepared for the college application process.

About our Guidance Counselor:

Hello, my name is Sheilah and I have an MS in Community Counseling from Seattle Pacific University. My background includes working as a college instructor, guidance counselor, clinical supervisor, and group home coordinator. Currently, I am teaching in the REACH program as well as online for Trinity International University and help with guidance counseling at Christian Liberty Academy. I have worked in the university environment for 10 years.

Personally, two of my main priorities and joys are my kiddos, Micaiah (16, girl) and Elijah (13).  I home school my daughter and we have been involved in many outside groups, including coordinating a tutoring/after school program for a low income apartment community. My son attends middle school and loves to play football and rugby. My kids and I live in the Chicago area which has the best pizza in the world! We have also lived in Seattle, Florida, and Colorado. I love to hike, read, and snuggle with my kids. Knowing, following, and serving Christ is the goal of my life. My favorite verse is Isaiah 43:3:

"For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place."
