The Christian Liberty Phonics Readers are a set of four books designed to complement a kindergarten phonics program (such as Adventures in Phonics: Level A). The series starts with one-page stories that focus on short vowel sounds, and builds to include two and three-page stories that stress long vowel sounds and, ultimately, blends. Numerous illustrations and photographs are included to heighten interest. Each story teaches Christian values and consists of short sentences intended to retain attention and promote success. Stories are also preceded by practice words that highlight the appropriate phonics rules being presented.

These were the first readers my sons used. My younger son would get so upset when a reader had talking foods, and animals driving cars, that he would be unable to read the words. He would have to stop because "Mom, Turtles don't drive buses" or " eggs dont talk". He was only 5 or 6 years old, but wanted to read "real" stories. These phonetic readers were just right for early reading. The stories are sweet, and relatable to very young children.
I love the simplicity of these books. They take the struggle out of trying to get your child to understand the basics of learning to read. Paired with the Adventures in Phonics workbook , they absorb and thrive in their understanding within days.
I love these books! It is so awesome to see the face of your child, as he realizes that he just read a story. The stories are wonderful. I used these readers with our older children too. Thank you so much for the great work you are still doing in putting our great materail for our children and grandchildren.
