Excellent Language Arts & Writing Course
I'm truly impressed with the quality of this book. This has got to be the best grammar and writing course for third grade! There's plenty of practice sections in the grammar sections, which go from subject and predicate to types of adjectives and adverbs, pronouns, etc.
The practice sections aren't just a selection of random sentences--but connected thoughts on a subject--the Antartic, penguins, and arctic hares in the section on Adjectives, for instance.
The writing comprises selections from the BJU press reader as well as student drafts. Children are taken through the process of research, gathering information, taking notes, writing a first draft and then revising it to include critiques and comments from readers.
I've long been looking for a comprehensive program like this. Many thanks to Christian Liberty Press for making this available! -

Loved using ENGLISH:3
We loved using the BJU English:3 (and ENG:6) this year. Lessons are great, colorful and not only did my kids enjoy grammar & writing, they improved so much. We will use BJU again for 4th and 7th grade ENG.

Learning from the ground up
I have used different books to teach writing and grammar but Enlish 3:Writing and Grammar is easy to understand and it has also helped my older children as they sometimes teach the younger ones their lessons. It's simple and well I just like it
