Suggested Grade Level: Kindergarten

Description: This course is the first of two devoted to manuscript style handwriting (modified Palmer method). Students work on following oral directions through interspersed games and activities; penmanship motor skills are strengthened through tracing shapes and drawing lines, circling or crossing out objects, and finally moving on to writing both upper and lower-case letters.

Primary Text 39910   Writing with Diligence
Suggested Grade Level: 1st

Description: This course continues to develop manuscript style handwriting (modified Palmer method). Students continue to develop proper penmanship skills by practicing capital and lower-case letters, basic punctuation, and the numbers 1-10. Words and simple sentences are also introduced.

Suggested Grade Level: 3rd

Description: This course continues to develop cursive writing skills (modified Zaner-Bloser method) by focusing on the most difficult capital and lower-case letters. In addition to repetition, games, practice sentences, and activities are used to reinforce these skills. Manuscript handwriting is also reviewed through practical applications, such as filling out various registration forms.
