Simplified for young readers, this timeless classic tells the story of Robin Crusoe as he is shipwrecked and then forced to survive on a deserted island. Julia Cowles does an excellent job of showing how, despite hardship after hardship, God is present in Crusoe's life and continually provides for his needs.
At the back of the book are supplemental arts and crafts activities (correlated to the chapters) to further the reader's understanding and enjoyment of the story.

My sons loved this book when they were younger. This edition is the perfect introduction to an adventurous story with a Christian theme. When my boys were older, they were excited to read the original. It was wonderful to have this younger edition as an introduction.
This book is a classic short chapter book with pictures for each chapter. The text is short and has enough drama and description to keep my 7 year old daughter's interest. I am homeschooling her for 2nd grade and I found that she gets overwhelmed with long text even though she reads well. My only gripe is that the book does not have comprehension questions to go with each chapter. In the end, I just make due by asking my own.
