  1. great History book 5 Star Review

I have enjoyed going through this book with my son this year. It includes parts of history most books leave out. I love the Christian values throughout the book!!

  2. Not historically sound 1 Star Review

I browsed this book when I got it in the mail and within 5 minutes I knew I wanted to send it back. There is a section on Native Americans which states that it is hard to feel any pity for the Native American's since they were more cruel to each other than the English men could have ever been to them. Then there is a section that recounts a story about Pocahontas. The problem is that is it an exact detailed description of a scene out of the Disney Pocahontas movie. Then at the end of the story, the author states, "Some say that is not true, but I think very likely it is." Really?!?! This is a HISTORY book, not a book of nice stories that the author hopes are true. Finally, the author uses a very condescending tone which is not appropriate or challenging given that this is suppose to be a 4th grade level book. I certainly DO NOT recommend this book.

  3. Poorly written 1 Star Review

Although I love other textbooks by CLP, "A Child's Story of America" is poorly written and grammatically weak.
