This course teaches the step-by-step process of producing a written research paper. The course begins by defining a research paper as an expanded expository essay which informs or explains an issue or topic through an accurate recording and supporting of the truth. The student is then taken through the steps of preplanning, how to use the library, the selecting of a topic, focusing thoughts, preparing an outline, and producing a final product. Materials include a text published by Christian Liberty Press. Course requirements involve the completion and submission of a 1,500-word research paper, which includes an outline, properly documented works within the paper, and a separate works cited page. The paper must be completed based on the principles and techniques taught in the research paper booklet provided for the course.
