Online California Achievement Test with near-instant, emailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your test results by email shortly after the test is completed.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.
- Indicate if you would like to add the RECOMMENDATION SERVICE service to your test (explained below).
- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
You will receive an email with details about registering to take the test shortly after completing your order. In most cases we are able to send the information within an hour but there may be times where it takes longer - up to 1 business day.

Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

So easy to use!
I used the online test this year for my 5th grade daughter. I was very pleased! And the fact that you get the results immediately is awesome!!

CAT online, used iPad
We used the CAT online test for my daughter who was finishing up 7th grade. This was the first time she tested (our second year homeschooling). I was really hoping we could use an iPad for the test, as it is convenient. I am happy to say the iPad worked perfecty! There were no glitches technologically. (Our iPad case does have an attached keyboard). The test was excellent, easy to use and understand. My daughter is a good reader, but not outstanding. She reads fairly quicky. She did not have trouble with the alloted time restraints. We received the results immediately, which is very convenient. Her results were what I would have expected, based on knowing her strengths and weaknesses, so I believe the questions are reasonable and grade appropriate. I would highly recommend doing this test online. Many colleges and schools now do their testing using computers, so I felt it was important for my daughter to begin to learn the skill of testing using a computer or iPad. I was also pleased to have ordered this test during a period of time when I received a discount. I paid only $20 for the test, as I did not need to pay for shipping. Overall, the convenience and the other things I mentioned about this test make it an outstanding product. I would highly recommend it.

CAT Online Test
The test was thorough and easy to use, once the child became used to doing it online. It was good that we could go back over the test to discover what was missed or incorrect,in my opinion, so we knew the student's particular strengths and weaknesses

The Best Test Ever!
Absolutely loved the on-line CAT test! It was wonderful to not have to wait for the tests to arrive in the mail plus it was graded instantly so the kids could track their progress. We had no technical problems at all and we have an older computer. The kids were able to do their test without any confusion and I didn't need an administrator. This is a keeper for our homeschool routine!! Loved it!!

Wonderful, Easy to use and a lifesaver.
When searching for ways to do testing after homeschooling in a different state I was floored by the cost of some of the other tests. This was recommended by one of those teachers and being a single mom this test was a great alternative and very much appreciated. My daughter is 15 I have home instructed for 5 years and we both found the test a great asset.

Easy to purchase, easy to use!
We have found this to be a wonderful way of testing for our family. We no longer need to go to another location to have our children tested over several days ( that is how it is generally done in our area). Being able to take the test in our home helps the kids relax more, saves us time and also money. The cost of the test is unbeatable! I have several children who need to be tested and the ONLINE CAT test make it convenient. We love not having to wait for the grades on the mail, having them available to us as soon as the kids are done with the test is an encouragement. It prevents them (and mom!) from thinking about it for a few weeks. We highly recommend the CAT test.

Too easy
I felt this test was very easy. My kids (who are average) whizzed through the entire thing. It gave them grade equivalents that are way beyond where they are. The math was on kinder level, in my opinion. I was hoping for something more accurate to get a better idea of where they are.

Easier than paper version
I tried this online achievement test for the first time this year with my 7th grader. He is doing more and more on computers, and we thought it might improve his interest in the achievement test. Achievement tests are not usually enjoyable, but my son actually looked forward to doing the test each day! He found the test to be much less complicated than the paper version. The form and set-up of the questions made the answers easier to locate (and no filling in little circles on an answer sheet!). We never had any glitches or reasons to call CLP. The only "downside" to the test that I could find is that in order to move on to the next question, you have to scroll down to find the "next" button. It would be much better if everything were visible on one screen without having to scroll down. This took a few extra seconds with each question. But other than that, the test was ideal for my son. I will definitely be using all online achievement tests text year for my older children. For my youngest who will be in second grade, I think I'll stick with the paper version for a couple more years until she develops her computer skills.

Simple and straightforward
The online CAT is very easy to purchase, register and use. Being able to get immediate results is very gratifying for both the student and the parent.
