Online California Achievement Test with near-instant, emailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your test results by email shortly after the test is completed.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.
- Indicate if you would like to add the RECOMMENDATION SERVICE service to your test (explained below).
- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
You will receive an email with details about registering to take the test shortly after completing your order. In most cases we are able to send the information within an hour but there may be times where it takes longer - up to 1 business day.

*Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Awesome Testing Method
Thank you so much for offering this online testing method. My daughter took a scantron test this spring through another company and did not do very well. I was suspicious that part of the problem was the scantron style of test. I ordered this test in order to see if she did better. She doubled her national percentile rating. I cannot praise this testing method more.

Cat tes review
I am now so glad the Cat test is available online...makes it much easier for children who get nervous with test taking. Having it administered by Christian Liberty, has given parents and their children more options. Thank you

Pleased with this product
There was only one thing that I didn't like. I didn't like that there were two scroll bars for each question. That was a bit confusing and time-wasting for my son. There should only be one scroll bar down the side of the page. Overall, this was a very useful, well-designed and inexpensive test. I will be using this again next year. Thank you!

SIMPLY Does the job
Mandatory testing is not what we want to do. This test is "allowed" in our state to be administered by the parents. So it does the job. I only gave it a "4" because it is a standardized testing BUT everyone at Christian Liberty have been VERY helpful and upon request also put the results of the test in the format that our state requires. We used the paper and the online test. Screen format was not the best but was manageable with scrolling up and down. Instant scoring was nice. Cost is OK.

Great option for testing
I have been homeschooling for nearly twenty years and just this year was told about this online option for testing. Up to this year I took the kids to a Christian school to get their yearly tests. I must say this is definitely a much better option. Not having to go anywhere, and being able to take the test later in the year(not when it was available at the school) is definitely great. It was easy and quick. My children had no problems with the format.Will definitely do this again.

Great option
After homeschooling this year, my school district asked that my son take a standardized test. Not wanting a school and teacher to admin the test, I was thrilled to find that the CAT was offered online through Christian Liberty!! The test results were immediate.

Easy Testing
We used the online version CAT from Christian Liberty,it was really easy for our children to take. Christian Liberty also has very helpful tips to taking the test, and I suggest you read through before taking. Make sure you go over the samples in each section with your child before taking. The immediate results was wonderful. Everyone happy! Highly recommend ;-)

CAT-End of Grade 2
Overall we liked the test. The timing stressed my child out somewhat but in the same token was grateful to sort of see where she was and how many problems she had left to do. It was seamless and easy to use and Christian Liberty had the test available to take in less than an hour after we purchased. If I had any complaints, it would not be with CLP, but with the CAT itself. 80% of what she learned in her second grade math curriculum this year was not even on the test (we did Math Mammoth which is quite progressive from everything I have seen). Moreover, there was one part of the math that was 50% multiplication. Multiplication has not been taught on the second grade level anywhere for years. So her math scores were not per se indicative of her level. I don't even think multiplication is something you should teach a second grader. I don't think this will be an issue going forward however as we will teach multiplication in the third grade. Further, I would use this test again.

CAT Grade 10
I would buy this again, but it is not nearly as comprehensive as the Iowa Test. We will continue to do the written Iowa Standardized Test too. Good practice though and reasonably priced. My daughter liked the immediate results.
