Liberty Mathematics: Level A provides students with an excellent course in dealing with traditional math concepts. Problem-solving strategies, critical thinking, estimation, and mental math are routinely stressed throughout, and systematic review of each concept is featured prominently.
The text begins by progressively teaching students addition from one to eighteen and subtraction from eighteen. Throughout the workbook it covers place value, addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers up to ninety-nine (with carrying and borrowing), and comparing ("less than" and "greater than") numbers. It also discusses time and money, as well as basic geometric shapes, calendars, measurement, and fractions.

Love this book! It was very easy to teach and covered all the needed basics for first grade. I pulled my child out of public school to homeschool him at home and used this book in his second grade curriculum to help him catch up. He was behind in math and didn't have alot of basic concepts down to be able to move on to multiplication and division. We were able to accomplish both Book A & B this year! My child now loves math too (because he understands it)!!
Affordable and complete. Has the feel of a workbook, not a text, so it does not look overwhelming to my daughter, who is 6. It is meant to be written in, so cannot be reused, but is so affordable that for one-kid use it is worth the money!
This is a great Math book. Exactly what I needed for my 6 year old son. I love Liberty Press and have started using many of your books for both of my sons homeschooling. Thank You for what you do and the very affordable prices:) God Bless!!
