Online California Achievement Test with near-instant, emailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your test results by email shortly after the test is completed.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.
- Indicate if you would like to add the RECOMMENDATION SERVICE service to your test (explained below).
- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
You will receive an email with details about registering to take the test shortly after completing your order. In most cases we are able to send the information within an hour but there may be times where it takes longer - up to 1 business day.

*Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Online CAT Review
This was our first experience of doing the CAT online. It was so easy. No hassle. When my daughter finished, I told her to leave it up so I could figure out how to get her grades. Before she could even get up from the computer, my email dinged, I already had the results!!

CAT online version
We have homeschooled for 15 plus years and I enjoy administering this test much more than the paper versions. You are able to get immediate results as soon as your child completes the test PLUS CLP often offers discounts/sales on their testing so it's always a great price too!

Online Testing is a Great Option
The Online CAT is a great option for homeschooling families. If your child is able to use the simple functions of a computer, this test may be a great resource for you. It is very economical (especially during the sales), and scoring is almost immediate. The site keeps records of what has been completed, and what still needs to be done. We have found the Online CAT to be ideal for our children, and will continue to use it throughout the homeschool years.

A real test!
Some homeschoolers removed their children from public school because of what was being taught over the past several years of public school and the education reform (CCSS) movement. This test allowed me to give a "real" test where there are "real" answers rather than guesstimates based on how other children answered questions rather than a really correct answer. Thank you for providing this resource for those of us who really want to know what our kids know, instead of whether they can choose the answer that "most" kids choose. I was also able to decipher the test results and it was so easy that I contacted Christian Liberty to find out if I was doing that correctly. Great product - keep up the good work!

Great choice!
We used this last year with my fourth grader as a practice for 5th grade NY state testing . After his test results were provided it was so much easier than writing my annual narrative assessment I submitted the scores, We have decided to use this every year whether the results are submitted or not. As one of the few test that can be used from lower grades through High School and being older parents this is the ideal solution for our family

Loved it!
The online CAT tests are the best! My son is entering 3rd grade. The directions were very simple and easy to understand. After completing the tests, we received the results right away. I graduated from Christian Liberty Academy and took these tests in paper form the whole time I was growing up, so it's great to see my son taking the same tests, but in a much more convenient way since my husband and I are missionaries in Peru!
