Online California Achievement Test with near-instant, emailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your test results by email shortly after the test is completed.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.
- Indicate if you would like to add the RECOMMENDATION SERVICE service to your test (explained below).
- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
You will receive an email with details about registering to take the test shortly after completing your order. In most cases we are able to send the information within an hour but there may be times where it takes longer - up to 1 business day.

*Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Great for quick testing scores! Recommendation service good if need help where to start.
Ordering and access was quick and easy. My son (13yr old) said the test directions were clear and easy to follow. Navigation was easy. As a home school mom, my only suggestion is to send an email or have a pop up when the test is done reminding you how to get the results. I remembered reading how to, but then I was waiting for an email to tell me it was ready. I ended up calling (customer service was very kind and helpful:) and when she told me it completely came back to me and I felt a little silly because it was so easy. A simple "Don't for get to get your results by..." or "Your results are ready. Please click on..." Would be very helpful. It was affordable and provided me with the information needed to access my student's ability and where he stands with the material we have been working on. I also purchased the recommendation service. It provides you with a recommended list of materials I could purchase for next years schooling. The list is great for giving me indication as to where we should be working next year and I would recommend it to anyone starting home school for 1st time or if your not sure where to start with your child. However, I guess I was expecting a little more, perhaps a short explanation on how the expert arrived at the recommendations. I am sure we will be using the test again next but maybe not the recommendation service unless I feel he is getting way off track and need a recommendation to were to go back to refresh.

easy and inexpensive
we loved being able to see his scores when he clicked his last answer rather than waiting days or weeks with other companies. the online format made it fun for him. way better than old school #2 bubble tests.

We have used this test for several years. Our 5 children enjoy getting the result right away. Also it is easy to use, and at a great price.

Great testing!
This was actually super easy to use. The ONLY problem that we had was during some portions of the test because the stories are long. So, you need to scroll within the box and that was a bit challenging for one of my kids. I ended up helping him with it and it was fine. I love that you get your results immediately and how amazingly easy it was to use!

Works fine, some scrolling
My 2nd grader was able to successfully complete this test with good results, but she has issues with needing to scroll different directions to either read the entire passage, or see all the answers. Also, the button to click on each answer is really small. She got upset several times about that it was timed and she couldnt get the button to click well. Overall good experience beyond those issues.

I really like this test because, I as a parent, can administer it. It takes less time than some of the other standardized tests do and I can get the results immediately!

The CAT's meow! Quick and simple to administer!
We were very pleased with this quick and easy to administer CAT test. There was enough time for the answers. I only wish I knew if we can go back and get our results or if they need to be printed out immediately, there is no information on 'after test instructions.' I just printed the results for my files.
