Online California Achievement Test with near-instant, emailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your test results by email shortly after the test is completed.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.
- Indicate if you would like to add the RECOMMENDATION SERVICE service to your test (explained below).
- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
You will receive an email with details about registering to take the test shortly after completing your order. In most cases we are able to send the information within an hour but there may be times where it takes longer - up to 1 business day.

*Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Easy Testing
This was our first time testing our 3rd and 5th graders at home. It was simple to log in and begin, and they liked the format. There was a server problem during our test, but customer service was helpful and reset the affected section of the exam. I plan to use this method again next year!

Overall is was wonderful
The only thing we had a little difficulty with was the language arts section where the lines are separated but the paragraph is at the top. The questions were easy to understand, themselves but there wasn't enough time allotted to navigate it in order be fast enough to answer.

Excellent test!
I tested my 3rd grader and 6th grader with the online CAT test this year. I am very pleased with the format and the customer service. The test seemed to cover the material we did during the school year, except for third grade math. We use MUS and therefore, had not covered fractions that were tested. The grammar and reading selections were thorough and well tested.

Great online testing option
Our family has used this test successfully for a few years now. Having the option to test online vs. paper and pencil tests gives us flexibility which we appreciate. We appreciate having the test results available immediately -- it gives my kids the satisfaction of knowing how they've done now, without waiting for them to be sent later. The only thing keeping me from giving this option a 5 star rating is the formatting and loading issues we've occasionally had while testing. Christian Liberty's customer service has been great at immediately resolving any issues we've encountered, and the reps are polite and helpful.
