Product Description
Paper California Achievement Test with mailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your testing materials by mail.
This service includes all the necessary materials and instructions for administering the test. After testing, please return the materials to us for scoring (an envelope is included, but you may use any mailing method you would prefer). After scoring the test, we will then mail the final results and original test sheet to you.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.

- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
It can take roughly 1 week to grade the test and mail the results after receiving your test(s). If ordering the Recommendation Service or Composite Scoring service, please allow up to an additional week for the results and service information to be mailed.
* Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Best Way to monitor my children's progress
I found the CAT to be a great alternative to assess your children's progress at the end of each school year. It is a great tool for parents to assess their student's progress! Thank you for a great product!

CAT quick and efficient
It was easy to administer this test. I recommend the California Achievement Test for those who home school that want to test their child and measure their progress. I used the CAT paper version, which came in the mail promptly.

Pleased with CAT and CLP
We were pleased with the efficiency and ease in which our son took the California Achievement Test. We received it, and the scores, quickly. The ladies in the testing department are very helpful, professional, and, from my experience, form good customer relationships. We would definitely recommend CLP and the CAT.

Great Value
As a first time user, I would recommend this test. Since I had never administered a standardized test before, at first it was a little confusing (especially the lower level-entering 2nd grade). The yellow bubbles were difficult to see. Much less expensive than other alternatives, and just as good.

Really good service
I like the paper version. CLP always gets it to me in good time when I order it and even the scoring has a really good turnover for getting back to me.

CAT is a good choice for us
Used the CAT for the first time this year, really liked to see not only results of percentage correct but also where they rank. Very reasonably priced.
-
need a more recent version
1970 is way too old a version of the test. I was embarrassed to hand in the results with that year on it. The results were not given in a very professional way either...just typed out simply. I will purchase the CAT test elsewhere next year.
