Product Description
Paper California Achievement Test with mailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your testing materials by mail.
This service includes all the necessary materials and instructions for administering the test. After testing, please return the materials to us for scoring (an envelope is included, but you may use any mailing method you would prefer). After scoring the test, we will then mail the final results and original test sheet to you.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.

- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
It can take roughly 1 week to grade the test and mail the results after receiving your test(s). If ordering the Recommendation Service or Composite Scoring service, please allow up to an additional week for the results and service information to be mailed.
* Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

reliable and timely service
The CAT is a good test tool; no further explanation needed. The answer key could afford to be on a bit heavier weight paper so the filled in ovals are less visible when the page is flipped to use the back (reason for 4/5 stars). The service is reliable and very timely. Used this test and service 3 years and have recommended to others and will continue to do so. Test results seem as accurate as any paper and pencil test can be.

was surprised
my son went right through the test quickly. I was much easier than I anticiptated. My only problem was the yellow print. very difficult to see for both my son and me!

Very Pleased
We used to use the Stanford Achievement Tests here, but switched a few years ago. We all like the CAT so much better. I am able to satisfy the local school board, and the kids feel confident that they know the things they need to. We have found Christian Libery to be very fast and courteous when we order or have questions. I have 5 more years to go and plan to use CAT each year

Newbie Here
Overall I was pleased with the paper test. The test results came back very quickly, which was nice. However, one con I had for the test was I thought the math section (going into 2nd grade test) was easy, random, crowded (too many problems shoved on one page that had no flow) and a lot shorter than the language part of the test. There wasn't really anything on the math section of the test to really "challenge" my daughter like the phonics and language sections. I would however recommend this test as a way to feel more confident in your own teaching skills to reassure you your child is on the "right" path.

Easy Test to Administer
We have used this test for years for all my children. I feel the results accurately portray the strengths and weaknesses of my children's abilities. The test is very easy to administer and results are easy to understand and arrive quickly. Thank you.

Service always prompt
We have used the CAT's for years and are very happy with the speed in getting them and then getting the results! I have and will continue to recommend CLP!

Wish I would have used this testing YEARS ago!
I have been homeschooling for 6 years and used other testing. I love the way the CAT breaks everything down and tells you grade level and all. It made me feel good about where my child was in his school work. Thanks

CAT Level 4
We used the paper version and it was easy to administer. My son had no difficulties following the directions which were explained very clearly in the paperwork from Christian Liberty. I received the test soon after I placed my order and the test results were very prompt. I'm sure I will use it again next year.
