Online California Achievement Test with near-instant, emailed results. This is a timed test.
This 1970 edition California Achievement Test is for students entering grades 2 through 12. It covers the following subject areas: Reading (vocabulary and comprehension), Mathematics (computation and concepts & problems), and Language (mechanics, usage & structure, and spelling). The test for entering grade 2 also includes Auding.
Scores reported will offer a grade equivalent score, but also percentile and stanine rankings for each of the individual test sections. You will receive your test results by email shortly after the test is completed.
Ordering Instructions:
- Enter the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of the student to be tested in the spaces provided.
- Select the GRADE ENTERING; not the student's current grade.
- COMPOSITE SCORING is included with your test. If you do not need it, you may check the "No" option.
- Indicate if you would like to add the RECOMMENDATION SERVICE service to your test (explained below).
- Please enter information only for one student at a time, then select the Add To Cart button.
- If you wish to purchase testing services for additional students, or wish to make other purchases, select the Continue Shopping link after viewing your shopping cart.
You will receive an email with details about registering to take the test shortly after completing your order. In most cases we are able to send the information within an hour but there may be times where it takes longer - up to 1 business day.

*Please note that the California Achievement Test has a 1 year expiration date.
Composite Scoring:
Christian Liberty has added the composite score option in response to some state and local school requirements.** This score is calculated from the raw scores of the individual sections of the California Achievement Test. Composite score results are displayed in raw score, percentile, and stanine rank formats. A grade equivalent composite score is not available.
What is Composite Scoring?
** Christian Liberty does not require a composite score for enrollment into its homeschool academy.
Recommendation Service:
If you are unsure which curriculum materials to choose based on the achievement test scores, Christian Liberty offers a curriculum recommendation service to provide guidance in this area. This service provides a subject-by-subject listing of recommended curriculum materials (from those offered through Christian Liberty) based solely on the CAT scores.
The recommendation service can take a few business days to complete and may delay the arrival of your test scores.
After testing is completed:
If you decide to enroll your student into Christian Liberty Homeschools (CLH) within six months after receiving the test results, the cost of the test will be deducted from your student's tuition fee. However, if you enroll your student in a grade level using a different test than the one originally taken, the test cost will not be deducted from your student's tuition fee.

Effortless
While I'm sure taking this test didn't seem effortless to my children, I found the ease of paying, downloading, using, and obtaining results to be so simple during a busy summer. I've found that finding testers, ordering, waiting, spending a week testing, and waiting to get results, all to find that I really already knew what the results would be can be quite a process. This gets the state requirements met with savings of effort, time and money for me.

Smooth testing experience!
We have always had a tester come out to do our yearly tests. This year, we went with the CAT, and were very pleased with the whole experience. My daughters were able to sit down at the computer, and just go for it. No timers, since they were automatically timed. No filling in circles with a no. 2 pencil. Just click away! The instant results were the best! I recommend this test for other homeschoolers!

easy and quick
This is the second time I've used the online testing service from CLP, and it can't be easier. I love that the results are immediately available. It gave my kids a real boost to see right away how they did. Testing at their current grades is not required, but I like doing it yearly so we know what we're doing great on and where we need to concentrate a bit more. As of now, the CAT is accepted for my state, but I have to make sure they will accept the online version for years it's required. Thank you for this service, I will continue to use it as long as possible!

Great basic test to check progression in the 3 Rs
For the three subject areas that this tests it is very complete. Students love the ease of computer testing and test segments are manageable junks. Test does not have to be done in order...you do a segment of math then English then back to math, or whatever I DO WISH CLP offered a more thorough test that included science and social studies...at least science!

I wish it was untimed
This has always been a good decent test but not good for special needs students who may actually need more time in completing. It would be nice if CL would begin to offer testing that would accommodate special needs students who may need a bit more time to complete. That's all.

Easy and painless
I gave the CAT test on-line to my two kids through Christian Liberty Press. It was very easy to follow and administer. Both my children were tested in one day and we received the results immediately. I had made a mistake when ordering, and a chat representative helped me out right away. I would recomend this testing option.

Convenient, Quick and Easy
So much better than ordering standard paper tests, waiting for them to arrive, then mailing them off, and finally, waiting for the results. My kids were able to take these almost immediately and I received the results within seconds of completion. I will definitely be doing this again next year.
